Aconium GmbH is actively involved in associations and networks dedicated to forward-looking regional development. For us, the challenges of the coming decades are already a priority today. In this regard, our focus is not only on technological development, but also on creating equal living conditions in both urban and rural areas.
aconium GmbH has been a member of the Federal Association KOMMUNAL 4.0since May 2024. With its comprehensive expertise in the field of digitalization, aconium GmbH supports the progress of digital transformation and crisis resilience in municipalities. Through its information and communication efforts, the Federal Association makes a significant contribution to the digitalization of municipal infrastructure. The focus here is on the water management sector. Representatives from municipal utilities can draw on a strong network of interdisciplinary experts to make their municipal water management systems fit for the future.
aconium GmbH is an active member of the Initiative for Skilled Workers in Fiber-Optic Network Expansion (FKGA). The FKGA is an independent industry initiative whose goal is to address the shortage of skilled workers in all areas of fiber-optic network expansion. To this end, the initiative seeks to facilitate continuing education programs, simplify access to jobs in the market, and assess the suitability of “related” job profiles. In addition, it aims to train and recruit additional skilled workers and promote current job profiles to potential employees both domestically and internationally. The initiative involves network infrastructure installers and operators, training providers and educational institutions, associations from the fields of telecommunications, civil engineering, pipeline construction, the electrical trade, and similar sectors, as well as other partners related to the topic. The initiative works closely with the relevant federal government departments.
In addition, aconium is a member of the Initiative D21 e. V., Germany’s largest network for the digital society. The association focuses on the societal changes brought about by digitalization. Here, aconium is particularly active in the working groups on ethics, innovative government, and education, as well as in the German Broadband Initiative (BBI).
At the Lower Saxony Academy for Rural Areas, Inc. (ALR-Lower Saxony), we support the infrastructural and cultural development of rural areas, particularly to counteract rural exodus and make rural areas attractive at every stage of life.
Aconium GmbH is a member of the German Association for Housing, Urban Development, and Regional Planning (DV), is particularly active in the Europe Working Group, and provides support in the area of “urban digitization.”
aconium is a member of the Alliance for Cybersecurity launched by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and, as part of this network, actively works to strengthen Germany’s resilience to cyberattacks.
eco is Europe’s largest association for the Internet industry, and aconium GmbH is a member of the network. Together with and on behalf of its members, eco shapes the development of the Internet, promotes new technologies, infrastructures, and markets, establishes framework conditions, and represents its members’ interests in political circles and international forums.
In addition, aconium GmbH is a member of the VDE (Association for Electrical, Electronic, and Information Technologies) – one of Europe’s largest technology organizations for more than 125 years. It combines science, standardization, testing, certification, and application consulting. The VDE mark is synonymous with the highest safety standards and consumer protection.
As an associate member, aconium is part of the Bitkom e.V.. Bitkom’s overarching goal is to make Germany a leading digital hub, to drive forward the digital transformation of the German economy and public administration, strengthen digital sovereignty, and ensure broad societal participation in digital developments—for example, through the accelerated expansion of gigabit networks and digital infrastructure for energy and transportation, for retail and smart homes, and for cities and regions.
aconium GmbH works closely with the German AI Association and has been a supporting member of the association since January 2020. Artificial intelligence is one of the key technologies of our future. The association provides a platform to discover AI companies, identify innovative technologies, and become part of the AI ecosystem. In doing so, we support the association in its efforts to ensure that member companies adhere to fundamental ethical, safety, and socially responsible quality standards in the application of artificial intelligence.
