aconium GmbH is involved in associations and networks for future-oriented regional development. For us, the challenges of the coming decades are already an issue today. Our focus is not only on technological development, but also on creating equal living conditions for urban and rural areas.

aconium GmbH has been a member of the Federal Association KOMMUNAL 4.0. With its comprehensive expertise in the field of digitalization, aconium GmbH supports the progress of the digital transformation and crisis resilience of municipalities. With its information and communication work, the federal association makes a significant contribution to the digitalization of municipal infrastructures. The focus here is on the water management sector. Representatives from municipal utilities can draw on a strong network of interdisciplinary experts to make their municipal water management fit for the future.

aconium GmbH is a committed member of the Initiative Fachkräfte für den Glasfaserausbau (FKGA). The FKGA is an independent industry initiative whose aim is to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in all areas of fiber optic expansion. To this end, further training measures are to be facilitated and access to activities in the market simplified, and “related” professions are to be examined for their suitability. In addition, additional skilled workers are to be qualified and recruited and current job profiles are to be advertised to potential employees from Germany and abroad. The initiative brings together installers and operators of network infrastructures, training providers and educational institutions, associations from the fields of telecommunications, civil engineering, pipeline construction, electrical trades, etc., as well as other partners with a connection to the topic. The initiative works closely with the relevant federal government departments.

In addition, aconium is a member of the Initiative D21 e. V.Germany’s largest network for the digital society. The association focuses on the social change brought about by digitalization. In particular, aconium is involved in the working groups on ethics, innovative government, education and the German Broadband Initiative (BBI).

In the Niedersächsische Akademie ländlicher Raum e. V. (ALR-Niedersachsen), we support the infrastructural and cultural development of rural areas, in particular to counteract the rural exodus and make rural areas attractive in all phases of life.

aconium GmbH is a member of the German Association for Housing, Urban Development and Regional Planning (DV), is particularly involved in the Europe working group and provides support in the field of “digitalization of cities”.

aconium is a participant in the Alliance for Cyber Security of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and actively strengthens Germany’s resilience to cyber attacks within this network.

eco is Europe’s largest association of the Internet industry and aconium GmbH is a member of the network. Together with and for its members, eco shapes the development of the Internet, promotes new technologies, infrastructures and markets, shapes framework conditions and represents the interests of its members in politics and on international committees.

aconium GmbH is also a member of the VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik, Elektronik und Informationstechnik e.V.) – one of the largest technology organizations in Europe for more than 125 years. It combines science, standardization, testing, certification and application consulting. The VDE mark is synonymous with the highest safety standards and consumer protection.

As an associate member, aconium is part of the Bitkom e.V.. Bitkom’s overarching goal is to make Germany a leading digital location, drive forward the digital transformation of the German economy and administration, strengthen digital sovereignty and achieve broad social participation in digital developments – for example by accelerating the expansion of gigabit networks and digital infrastructures for energy and transport, for retail and smart homes, for cities and regions.

aconium GmbH works closely with the KI Federal Association and has been a supporting member of the association since January 2020. Artificial intelligence is one of the key technologies of our future. The association provides a platform to discover AI companies, identify innovative technologies and become part of the AI ecosystem. In doing so, we support the association in its efforts to comply with basic ethical, safe and socially acceptable quality parameters in the application of artificial intelligence in member companies.

As managing directors of the German Institute for Broadband Communication GmbH (dibkom), Tim Brauckmüller and aconium GmbH, together with experts from Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, the ZVEH and the industry (advisory boards and commissions), support the neutral training and certification of specialists as well as standardization and standardization processes as quality assurance measures in information and communication technology in order to counteract the shortage of skilled workers, which has been increasing for decades.
