Public Sector Consultant (m/f/d)
We are currently seeking a Public Sector Consultant (m/f/d) to join our State Government Consulting team at our Berlin office, ideally on a 40-hour workweek basis.
Your area of responsibility:
- You support state ministries, state agencies, and public enterprises in their strategic, organizational, and digital transformation and modernization initiatives.
- You analyze technical, organizational, political, and strategic issues and develop well-founded recommendations for action as well as forward-looking concepts—particularly in the areas of digitalization, infrastructure, public services, administrative modernization, and grant management.
- You develop sound decision-making frameworks, strategy papers, concepts, and management presentations for political and administrative decision-makers.
- You design, facilitate, and document workshops as well as other participatory and consultation formats, and support change and decision-making processes involving various stakeholders.
- You will take on project management responsibilities, coordinate consultation and communication processes, keep track of deadlines, milestones, and project tasks, and support project controlling.
- You will help develop new consulting approaches, prepare proposals, and secure new projects in the public sector.
Your Profile:
- A successfully completed college degree, preferably in administrative sciences, public management, economics, social sciences, political science, or a comparable field of study
- Several years of professional experience in consulting or working with public administrations, as well as a thorough understanding of the structures, decision-making processes, and political framework of the public sector—ideally at the state level
- Experience in designing and implementing organizational, transformation, or digitalization projects
- Knowledge of a specific political field (e.g., infrastructure policy) and, preferably, experience in the development and implementation of funding programs
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, a structured approach to work, and the ability to interact confidently with various stakeholders
- Business-level proficiency in German and a willingness to travel for project-related business trips
