Team Lead, Project & Product Management (m/f/d)

 

We are looking for a Team Lead, Project & Product Management (m/f/d) in Berlin, to start immediately. In this role, you will take on a key technical leadership and strategic role within our aconium PMO (Project Management Office). You will further develop standards, methods, and governance structures for our project and product management, ensure transparency across our project and product portfolio, and empower project managers and product owners in their daily work. The PMO works closely with public sector clients and partners to implement digital transformation projects. This is generally a 40-hour-per-week position.

Your Responsibilities

  • PMO Governance & Standards:
    You will develop, establish, and maintain PMO standards, methods, and tools for our project and product management (including templates, role descriptions, status logic, decision-making processes, and end-to-end governance processes)
  • Portfolio & Resource Management:
    You ensure transparency across the project and product portfolios, identify resource bottlenecks, risks, and dependencies, and support prioritization and management decisions.
  • Reporting & Decision Support:

You are responsible for creating informative dashboards, key metrics, and reports, and for preparing reliable decision-making resources for management and stakeholders.

  • Technical Coordination & Enablement:
    You provide technical coordination for project managers and product owners, promote best practices and knowledge transfer, and support the continued development of the project management community.
  • Continuous Development of the PMO:
    You will work with relevant stakeholders to further develop the PMO’s structures, identify opportunities for improvement, and help make project and product management within the company more effective, transparent, and interoperable.

Your Profile

  • A successfully completed degree in economics, public administration, or engineering; (business) information technology; or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
  • Several years of experience in project management, ideally with responsibility for a PMO, portfolio, or multiple projects
  • Experience in further developing PMO structures, governance processes, and reporting systems
  • In-depth knowledge of traditional, agile, and hybrid project management methods
  • Experience in lateral leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficient use of project management, collaboration, and reporting tools
  • Ideally, experience working with public institutions or on publicly funded digitization projects
  • An analytical, structured, and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a talent for organization
  • Business-level proficiency in German and very good English skills
