GIS Software Architect (m/f/d)

 

We are looking for a GIS Software Architect for our Berlin office, to start immediately, preferably full-time.

Your Responsibilities

  • Software Architecture: You will continuously refine the design and development of our WebGIS solutions and actively help shape their technical architecture.
  • Application Development: You will develop innovative GIS applications and ensure their reliable deployment and continuous optimization.
  • Geodata Management: You create complex GIS queries, analyze and process geodata, and prepare it for various applications.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization: You analyze, organize, and visualize a wide variety of data, with a particular focus on geospatial data, and create informative cartographic representations.
  • Quality Assurance: You will develop solutions for automated quality and validity checks of geodata, thereby contributing to high data quality.
  • Innovation Projects: You’ll contribute to forward-looking projects in the fields of big data and artificial intelligence and apply your technical expertise to the further development of our solutions.
  • Customer Support: You will assist our customers with professional and technical inquiries and support the implementation of customized GIS solutions.
  • Teamwork: You will work closely with interdisciplinary project teams and actively contribute your ideas to the further development of our GIS products and infrastructure projects.

Your profile:

  • You have extensive professional experience in the field of geographic information systems, geodata management, or a related field.
  • You have very strong knowledge of Python (particularly GeoPandas, Pandas, and Jupyter) as well as experience with SQL and PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
  • You have practical experience with open-source GIS solutions such as QGIS, GeoNode, or GeoServer.
  • Ideally, you have experience building data pipelines—for example, using Apache Airflow—as well as some experience in the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning (e.g., TensorFlow or Keras).
  • Ideally, you will have some initial experience working with municipal geodata and processing it in a technical capacity.
  • You have a good understanding of data visualization and cartographic representations, and use this knowledge to develop meaningful geoinformation products.
  • Knowledge of Git and experience with agile development methods are a plus.
  • You work in an analytical and structured manner, take initiative, and enjoy developing innovative solutions.
  • You stand out thanks to your strong communication skills, ability to work well with others, and excellent written and spoken German.
