aconium GmbH has been a member of the KOMMUNAL 4.0 federal association since May 2024. With our comprehensive expertise in the field of digitalization, we support the progress of the digital transformation and crisis resilience of municipalities. With its information and communication work, the federal association makes a significant contribution to the digitalization of municipal infrastructures. The focus here is on the water management sector. Representatives from municipal utilities can draw on a strong network of interdisciplinary experts to make their municipal water management fit for the future.

In this context, the Federal Association, in cooperation with the company Smartvatten, is offering the specialist seminar “NIS2, KRITIS and Co. – ready for a cyber-secure water industry?” on 24.09.2024 in Osnabrück. The topics of cybersecurity, cloud technology and artificial intelligence have also become increasingly important in the water industry in recent months. The water sector is one of the networked systems of basic supply. A disruption to the infrastructure can have a significant impact on society’s basic supply. The protection and security of water management infrastructures is a joint task with high priority, which is made possible by a focused political framework.

The event in Osnabrück offers the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts from various areas of cyber security and to find out about current threats, security concepts and solutions. As part of the lecture program, our funding consultant for national funding programs, Malwina Razmand, will provide information on funding opportunities for cyber-secure water management.

In her presentation, Malwina Razmand will provide valuable insights into the understanding of critical infrastructures and their protection. One focus of the presentation will be on cyber security. Our expert will discuss current threats and attacks as well as measures that companies and organizations can take to protect themselves. The lecture will provide a comprehensive and informative presentation of the important topics in the field of KRITIS and cyber security as well as valuable advice and tips on the use of funding.

Other items on the program include “Intelligent water management – but secure: data analytics and cybersecurity as a provider” and “Practical report: cybersecurity as an operator – what are the difficulties?”. The speakers include professors, IT specialists and software developers, all with the common goal of making the water sector modern and crisis-proof.

In addition to the specialist presentations, participants can visit an exhibition with offers on cyber security and exchange experiences.

You will find us at stand M04a. Further information on registration and the event can be found here: https://bvk4-0.de/veranstaltung/fachseminar-nis2-kritis-co/
