The Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport Affairs has revised the funding concept for the expansion of high-speed networks. The new Federal Gigabit Guideline 2.0 helps local authorities and provides the framework for subsidized fibre optic expansion. As one of the sovereign project sponsors for the federal broadband and gigabit funding program, aconium is particularly keen to support the funding recipients in their expansion projects and to prepare and accompany applicants in the best possible way.

This includes bringing them up to date with the new Gigabit Directive 2.0 and helping them to understand the changes. In addition to bilateral exchanges, aconium GmbH regularly invites funding recipients and applicants from its project area to various events. The aim is to present the new Gigabit Directive, understand the innovations and clarify the associated questions, thereby eliminating uncertainties. The aconium experts at our locations in Düsseldorf, Osterholz-Scharmbeck, Schwerin, Baden-Württemberg and Wiesbaden will pass on their knowledge and are ready to listen to all concerns and provide practical solutions. The group of participants is deliberately kept small with a maximum of 20 people so that all participants can actively participate.

Another aim is for applicants to share their experiences with each other, particularly with regard to innovations such as the sector dialogue or the more flexible market exploration procedure.

aconium will continue these discussion formats and develop them further with the grant recipients in order to ensure a transparent transfer of knowledge at all times. To this end, aconium GmbH is also continuously represented with its expertise at trade fairs and events. On May 25 in Cologne, for example, a separate “Broadband Forum for Municipalities” panel was held as part of the ANGA COM broadband congress trade fair. In addition, aconium GmbH offered workshops on the new Gigabit Funding 2.0 guideline, market exploration procedures and proof of use.

New guide published

The new guidelines for implementing the new Directive 2.0 are now also available to download from our website as a further source of support. The aim of these guidelines is to make the application process for the federal funding program Gigabit 2.0 as simple, comprehensible and transparent as possible. The structure of the guide therefore follows the funding project process chronologically. It begins with the identification of the need for action, continues with the first steps in the run-up to submitting an application and the specific measures in the application process through to the implementation of the expansion project and outlines the options that are possible within the framework of the federal funding program. The guidelines provide the applicant/grant recipient with explanations based on clarifications and interpretations of the text of the guidelines.
