Digital engagement has many facets. In recognition of this, the “Digital for All” initiative is awarding the “Prize for Digital Cooperation” for the third time on the occasion of Digital Day on June 24, 2022. The prize, which is endowed with a total of 20,000 euros, is being sponsored by aconium for the second time.

Digitalization is affecting all areas of our lives and has long been an integral part of our everyday lives. However, not everyone has the same opportunities to participate in advancing digitalization and benefit from the opportunities it brings. It is therefore important to make digitalization inclusive for society as a whole. This is precisely where the award for digital togetherness comes in. It recognizes people and projects that ensure that people who have not yet been able to achieve digital participation are carefully guided into the digital world in order to enable them to achieve a self-determined digital identity.

Applications for the Digital Togetherness Award can be submitted until April 18. It is now up to the high-caliber jury to decide on the winners of the Award for Digital Coexistence from among the many innovative, exciting and sometimes unconventional ideas and projects. The independent jury includes personalities from civil society, politics, business and religion. Inclusion activist Raul Krauthausen, Bitkom President Achim Berg and the former Chairman of the Council of the Protestant Church in Germany Prof. Dr. Heinrich Bedford-Strohm, for example, are among the jury members.

The prize is awarded in the categories “Digital Participation” and “Digital Commitment”. The awards in both categories, each endowed with 10,000 euros, are once again sponsored by aconium GmbH. The “Digital Participation” category recognizes projects that contribute to ensuring that all social groups can benefit from digital change and participate in digital developments. The “Digital Engagement” category honors projects and initiatives that use digital technologies to promote social engagement. The prize is awarded by the “Digital for all” initiative. The alliance of 28 organizations from the fields of civil society, culture, science, business, charity and the public sector is the sponsor of Digital Day, which is taking place nationwide for the third time this year on 24 June.
