With the start of the new year, the process of creating a local development strategy for the Kassel-Land region is also entering a new round.
As part of the public regional conferences, which took place on February 2 and 3 in a virtual format, all participants were informed in detail about the LEADER funding method and the process of creating the local development strategy (LES). A panel discussion on regional project examples gave an impression of the possibilities of LEADER funding. In addition, Joao Brown (aconium GmbH) gave an outlook on upcoming transformation processes as part of a keynote speech.
The citizens from the district of Kassel and the three municipalities from the Schwalm-Eder district of Edermünde, Gudensberg and Niedenstein were then invited to look into the future of the region together. What do megatrends such as connectivity, new work and neo-ecology mean for the region? What challenges and opportunities will the transformation bring? The participants then explored these questions in small groups. Finally, the citizens were informed about further opportunities for participation in the LES creation process and beyond.
