The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) has published the new short report on broadband availability in Germany. This report presents the key results of the data surveys for broadband availability in Germany as of mid-2021.
The broadband atlas provides an overview of the scope and development of the federal funding program for broadband expansion. For the first time, the report includes key figures on the development of broadband availability since the end of 2018 in the federal states and by spatial category.
The Broadband Atlas is the central information medium on current broadband coverage in Germany. The results of the report on broadband expansion are based on voluntary data provided by broadband providers. Interactive maps in the broadband atlas can be used to identify gaps in coverage and derive decision-making aids for expansion and funding measures. The broadband atlas also shows all projects in the federal funding program as well as the expansion areas. It is available to all interested parties free of charge.
The results are based on data supplied by the telecommunications companies.
The operation of the broadband atlas and the survey on broadband availability in Germany is carried out by aconium GmbH on behalf of the BMVI. The broadband atlas and the results reports are available at www.breitbandatlas.de.
