First school in Bavaria to receive broadband school seal of approval

An efficient and sustainable broadband infrastructure is a basic prerequisite for modern, digitally supported teaching. This attribute has now also been awarded to the Roding primary and secondary school in the district of Cham – it was awarded the Broadband Schools seal of approval on Wednesday. At the award ceremony, aconium Managing Director Tim Brauckmüller emphasized the far-sightedness and exemplary nature of the entire district. The school had “passed with flying colors.”

The Broadband Schools seal of approval is the first standard in Germany to certify a sustainable IT infrastructure for school networks. It sets minimum technical standards for digital strategies and the expected use of end devices. With this minimum equipment, schools guarantee the feasibility of their pedagogical concepts for interdisciplinary and subject-specific education. The seal of approval was developed by the German Institute for Broadband Communication (dibkom) in cooperation with aconium GmbH – Initiative Kompetenzzentrum Digitale Bildung and is valid for ten years.

As a pilot school, Roding Primary and Secondary School (GMS) will also be launching the training program for teaching staff developed by the Digital Education Competence Centre in the coming months. The courses prepare teachers for the digital communication and pedagogical challenges of the future in a practical way.
