With three stops on the North Sea island of Sylt, aconium GmbH’s future journey to a total of 100 places of digitalization started this week. After kicking off on August 10 in Kampen, the tour, which has the motto “Germany – a journey into the future”, made stops in Hörnum (August 12) and List (August 13).
“I am delighted that we are able to bring digitalization closer to local people on our tour with our mobile and explain directly what is behind buzzwords such as smart regions, e-government and digital education,” said aconium Managing Director Tim Brauckmüller at the start of the Germany tour.
With state-of-the-art digital technology on board, the experts from aconium GmbH and the Broadband Competence Center Schleswig-Holstein (BKZ.SH) presented, among other things, the capabilities that broadband networks already have today and will have in the future. Visitors were able to find out how digitalization is changing, improving and simplifying our everyday lives through interactive simulations, explanatory films and videos. A telepresence robot also demonstrated new, active communication options.
Telemedicine, car sharing with electric vehicles, smart electricity meters, digital services in town halls and online teaching in schools – none of this would be possible without the expansion of the digital infrastructure towards a sustainable fiber optic architecture. The mayors of Sylt’s municipalities discussed the planning and implementation of infrastructure projects with aconium GmbH employees during their visit to the Infomobile.
After the North Sea island of Sylt, the Infomobile crew will first return to the mainland and then continue on to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania via several stops in Schleswig-Holstein – including the state capital Kiel. Until next year, the atene future journey will take them to 100 places of digitalization, including networked farms, digital schools and town halls and innovative companies.
