On the occasion of the second nationwide Digital Day of the “Digital for All” initiative on June 18, the “Award for Digital Togetherness” will also be awarded in two categories. An independent jury of personalities from civil society, politics, business and religion has now decided which projects have made it to the final and nominated the following eight initiatives for the coveted prize:

These eight initiatives were selected by the jury from a total of more than 300 applications. The award is being sponsored exclusively by aconium GmbH for the first time and is endowed with 10,000 euros each. The prize is awarded in the categories “Digital Participation” and “Digital Commitment”.

The prize is awarded to projects that use digital technologies for the common good and make the opportunities of digital change available to all parts of society. The winners will be announced in online videos on June 16, 2021.

Digital Day, which took place for the first time in 2020 as a nationwide day of action, is intended to give digitisation a voice with numerous events and activities throughout Germany, make it tangible, show ways to digital participation and offer space for discourse. Across Germany, 1,300 activities have already been registered by local associations, the public sector and companies. The Digital Day is sponsored by the “Digital for All” initiative, which brings together 27 organisations from the fields of civil society, culture, science, business, welfare and the public sector.
