In times when the coronavirus pandemic is turning the business processes of many companies upside down, the need for new, digital solutions is greater than ever before. However, even without the current circumstances, digital change is a development that is accelerating and constantly placing new demands on companies. This poses major challenges for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular, especially in rural areas. You can find out why it is nevertheless important to see data as a valuable resource in the paper“Why you should care“, which was written by one of the Dutch project partners in the Interreg North Sea project Futures By Design.
Fortunately, there is support for companies that do not know how exactly they can integrate the use of data into their day-to-day business: as part of the Interreg North Sea project Futures By Design, project partners from five countries are working together to support SMEs on this path. aconium is the German project partner in the region around the district of Osterholz. The current project newsletter (available at https://aconium.eu/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Futures-By-Design_Newsletter.pdf reveals the steps SMEs can take to work and make decisions in a more data-driven way. In addition to support from the regional partners on site, there is now a virtual hub that offers SMEs tools and information. With the help of Data Jumpstart, SMEs can find out how advanced they are in terms of data usage as a first step and receive an individual report that shows their strengths and weaknesses in comparison with other companies.
