In September 2017, aconium GmbH was commissioned by the Joint State Planning Department Berlin-Brandenburg to present all funded Interreg B projects with the respective partners from Berlin and Brandenburg in a brochure and to provide information on the funding opportunities for the current funding period. The brochure is now available as a PDF.
In the Interreg B program of the European Territorial Cooperation (ETC), different actors cooperate on various topics in European partnerships. The aim is to promote cross-regional and cross-departmental cooperation across national borders in line with the Europe 2020 strategy in order to create opportunities for growth and development. Germany is represented in six of these programs: Alpine Space, Danube Region, Central Europe, North Sea Region, Northwest Europe and Baltic Sea Region.
Through these transnational projects, the European regions grow closer together and benefit from the experiences of their European neighbors. The Joint State Planning Department Berlin-Brandenburg is responsible for the transnational cooperation of the Interreg B program in the capital region and is the central point of contact for information on the Interreg projects relevant to Berlin-Brandenburg. The brochure developed by aconium GmbH presents the currently approved Interreg V B projects and their respective partners from the Berlin / Brandenburg region.
The 32 currently funded cooperation projects bring together 26 partners from the transnational program areas Central Europe (Central Europe) and Baltic Sea Region (Baltic Sea Region). The projects deal with the topics of transport, innovation and technology transfer, energy efficiency and environmental protection and all support the development goals of the current funding period (2014-2020) with a special focus on strengthening the competitiveness of the European regions and initiating necessary reforms.
The presentation of the extensive activities within the framework of the Interreg V B projects of the capital region is supplemented in the brochure by an overview of the ETC, interim results of the current funding period and an outlook on the future of the ETC. The brochure will be updated twice before the end of the funding period in order to include further projects, present results and provide up-to-date information on the development of the programs and EU funding.
