On September 6, the district of Döhle in the municipality of Egestorf was ceremoniously put into operation with the flipping of the symbolic switch. From now on, the residents there can benefit from an FTTH fiber optic network.

This was made possible by the activities of the Eigenbetrieb Breitband Bispingen – financed by federal funding and the municipal broadband loan from NBank, among other things.

Olaf Lies, Lower Saxony’s Minister of Economic Affairs, praised the efforts of the Bispingen broadband company at the commissioning ceremony – not only for its efforts, but also for the fact that this expansion project in particular demonstrates how well inter-municipal cooperation works. He emphasized that this expansion had created an important piece of public services in rural areas. Stefan Molkentin, Branch Manager North, was on site from aconium GmbH.

The need and immense demand for high-speed Internet connections can also be seen in the high connection rate – 85.4% of potential subscribers in the district of Döhle have already opted for the service offered by Eigenbetrieb Breitband Bispingen, and more subscribers are likely to follow.
