At this year’s North Sea Region Annual Conference, aconium GmbH presented the approved Interreg NSR project “CORA – COnnecting Remote Areas with digital infrastructure and services”!
The 2017 Annual Conference for the North Sea Region took place in Göttingen from June 28 to 30. More than 300 stakeholders from across the North Sea region took part, discussing new ideas and sharing project experiences. In addition to the keynotes in the main conference, several workshop sessions were organized in five thematic areas, each focusing on a specific dimension in the North Sea region. aconium GmbH took on active roles in two of the workshops.
In thematic area 3, “Developing accessibility through clean transportation”, Britta Schmigotzki, Project Manager at aconium GmbH, and Michael Frömming, Managing Director of the Zweckverband Verkehrsverbund Süd-Niedersachsen, spoke about the challenges of establishing sustainable mobility in rural areas. In particular, they discussed the role of “bottom-up initiatives” in Interreg projects with the audience.
In thematic area 4, “Building attractive and sustainable communities in the North Sea region”, Peyman Khodabakhsh, Project Manager at aconium GmbH, presented the opportunities and challenges of digitalization in rural areas. He also presented the recently approved Interreg NSR project “CORA – COnnecting Remote Areas with digital infrastructure and services”. The project focuses on the development of strategies and innovative solutions to bridge the digital divide and improve the use of digital services in rural areas by 2020. CORA is a transnational project involving 18 partners from seven European member states.
aconium GmbH is CORA’s project developer, project partner and assumes the leading function in the area of public relations.
