The BauNXT project is setting new standards in the construction industry with an innovative, prototype AI assistant. In an interdisciplinary collaboration between the Ravensburg District Craftsmen’s Association, aconium GmbH and embraceable Technology GmbH, a digital tool is being developed that processes complex technical regulations, standards and guidelines in a user-friendly manner within seconds. Based on a fusion of explicit rule knowledge and the implicit practical experience of skilled tradespeople, the prototype combines both in a central interface. State-of-the-art image processing technologies will also support automated quality and safety control on construction sites.

In the pilot phase, the assistant will be tested in the roofing trade to examine real-world application conditions and gain insights into user-friendliness, functionality and efficiency. Continuous scientific monitoring will collect data for optimisation in order to further develop the prototype with a view to the future and to secure craftsmanship expertise in the long term.

The project is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism as part of the ‘Horizont Handwerk’ initiative.

aconium GmbH is responsible for overall project management, scientific support, evaluation of the prototype AI assistant, final knowledge transfer management, and organisation of a three-part series of events.
