Transnational Interreg Projects – Activities and potentials for the capital region

The Project

The Joint Spatial Planning Department of Berlin-Brandenburg is a central information hub for the Interreg Programmes relevant for the region, namely the Interreg V B Baltic Sea Region and Central Europe. In this context, the department not only offers information about the programmes, but also on the projects that are implemented by different actors in the municipal region. In a brochure these projects are introduced to give regional actors and stakeholders an impression of the broad variety of activities in the region and to motivate them to create own projects. Currently there are 32 projects with 26 partners from Berlin-Brandenburg dealing with the following topics:

• Traffic
• Innovation and technology transfer
• Energy efficiency
• Environmentalism

All projects support the objectives of the current funding period (2014-2020) and focus on strengthening the competitiveness of European regions and initiating necessary reforms.

The brochure will be updated twice to include more projects, present results and give information on the development of the programmes and the funding period.

Goals

The brochure informs all interested parties about funded projects and highlights partners that are involved in the projects from Berlin and Brandenburg. Furthermore, the brochure informs about the funding possibilities of the current funding period.
