On 16 and 17 January the Interreg NSR interwork event took place in The Hague (The Netherlands) with participation of stakeholders from the North Sea Region. The event was designed to help applicants participating in upcoming calls for full applications (Call 9) and expressions of interest (Call 10). It also provided an excellent opportunity for networking and helping to establish transnational contacts for the upcoming project applications.

Besides idea pitching, networking and sharing knowledge on the programme procedures, bilateral conversations were organised for beneficiaries who aim at submitting a full application or an Expression of Interest in calls 9 and 10.

Project COM3

As the developer of an approved Expression of Interest “COM3-Building COMpetences for COMpetetive COMpanies” aconium took part in the event. Our project team got insights and recommendations from the NSR Joint Secretariat as well as the National Contact Points of the involved member states. COM3 aims at improving the digital tech-adoption of enterprises in less developed and rural areas. The project brings together local and regional authorities, research institutions as well as business support organisations from all over the North Sea Region. Goals of COM3 are:

  • Developing innovative measures for maximizing an effective tech-adoption of enterprises in rural areas
  • Developing tech-branded areas in the North Sea Region

The COM3 project Expression of Interest has been submitted in Call 8 of Interreg NSR and approved by the steering committee of the North Sea Region. The full application will be submitted by 11 March 2019.

aconium & the Interreg North Sea Region

aconium has more than ten years of experience working in Interreg NSR projects. We are currently actively involved in two ongoing Interreg NSR projects:

In CORA, aconium GmbH is the project developer as well as project partner, leader of communication work package and transnational project, communications and financial manager in collaboration with the Lead Partner Intercommunale Leiedal. Furthermore, aconium coordinates the development of the training and e-learning platform in the project, focusing on improving the digital skills in less developed and rural areas of the North Sea Region. The project consists of a transnational consortium comprising 18 partners from 7 European member states.

The recently started FBD – Futures By Design project aims to increase the innovative capacity and productivity of small and medium-sized enterprises in economically less prosperous rural areas. The ability of companies to access data and data analytics to drive innovative processes is often limited. Through information and knowledge transfer, companies from various industries will be prepared for impending economic and technical or digital challenges. As a project partner, aconium takes over communication activities and is responsible for developing and carrying out the inter-regional survey on enterprises in the partner regions.
