aconium officially opened its regional office for Bavaria in Munich on April 9, 2019. The team from the regional office for Bavaria welcomed many guests from politics, administration and business.
The office in Munich’s Werksviertel district provides quick access to information, advice and project support for the implementation of the federal broadband funding program. The regional office also supports administration, business and science in the development and implementation of future-oriented strategies in the areas of digitalization, energy, mobility and education.
Dr. Rainer Bauer, Head of the Digitization, Broadband and Surveying Department at the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and Home Affairs, gave the opening address. “Bavaria is the largest federal state in terms of area and faces particular challenges when it comes to broadband development. The federal and state governments must pull together to drive forward the expansion of fiber optics in Bavaria so that the joint goal of gigabits by 2025 can be achieved,” said Bauer. “We are delighted that the BMVI’s project sponsor for the federal funding – aconium GmbH – has opened a regional office in Bavaria to provide local advice and support to the municipalities in Bavaria together with us.”
Dr Annette Schumacher, Member of the Management Board and Head of the Regional Office for Bavaria: “Digitalization must be accelerated. With the new local office, we are in an even better position to support the municipalities in Bavaria in the expansion of high-speed Internet in close cooperation with the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and Home Affairs, the district governments and the Broadband Competence Center.”
