In the new video series “DEUTSCHLAND DIGITAL! Success Stories of Digitalization”, aconium GmbH visits companies and municipalities throughout Germany that have introduced digital processes and thus made digitalization a success. This improves the quality of life for citizens, simplifies the day-to-day work of employees and strengthens Germany as a business location.

Our video format aims to raise awareness of the digital transformation and to sensitize municipalities and entrepreneurs to the topic of digitalization. In our fourth episode, we visited Schoningen, a village in the district of Northeim in Lower Saxony. Manfred Ide founded Fovea GmbH there. The company has developed an app that automatically records the number and volume of felled trees in log piles and makes them available online in real time, including the corresponding GPS coordinates. All data can be accessed in a cloud. This significantly simplifies the subsequent logistics process for wood processing. The increase in efficiency for foresters is estimated at 95% compared to the conventional measuring method using a folding rule, paper and pencil. The app processes comparable data in just three minutes instead of the previous 70 minutes. Benefits: All important data is recorded in a short time, using only a smartphone and the app. Watch the whole movie on our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/nCz-X24vNl4
