This year’s annual conference of the INTERREG North Sea Region (NSR) programme took place from 15 to 16 June in Billund, Denmark. Around 400 participants took part in the event under the motto “Building for the future”.

The first day of the conference started with keynotes by the Programme representatives and EU representative, amongst others, Walter Deffaa, director general of the Directorate for Regional Policies and Urban Development. The subsequent workshops explained the different possibilities for successful project proposals in accordance with the programme priorities “Thinking Growth”, “Eco-innovation”, “Sustainable NSR” and “Green transport and mobility”. The participants learned for instance which project topics are of relevance and how project content and targets should be constituted.

On the second day field trips were taken in order to show how the topics of the NSR programme can be implemented. Amongst others, the trips aimed at introducing the Danish energy supply systems, exemplary actions for flood protection or activities taken to develop Southern Denmark into a tourist region amongst others. In the afternoon several workshops conveyed the necessary know-how for developing successful project proposals. The day ended with the presentation of various innovative projects.

The two-day conference of the NSR offered an excellent platform for networking, search for project partners and for the development of project ideas. Moreover, it offered a direct contact to the programme representatives.

aconium submitted an expression of interest for INTERREG NSR together with its network of partners focusing on broadband deployment in rural areas. Additionally, aconium advises those interested in projects and helps finding project partners.
