Energy management has been the main focus of the event “Mod.EEM expert congress 2016” organized by the climate protection agency region Hannover and the enercity-fonds proKlima on April 5th. The so called modular energy efficiency model (Mod.EEM) is a Climate Initiative supported by the German Federal Environment Ministry (BMUB) and the Ministry of climate protection, environment, agriculture, nature and consumer protection of North Rhine-Westphalia. It supports the industrial and commercial process to increase energy efficiency and reduce energy costs.

Leading experts from politics, industry and the service sector discussed the key steps for introducing an energy management system and explained how the consistent use of energy savings reduces operating costs and increases competitiveness.

Numerous best practice examples from industry and various companies provided detailed insights into the practical implementation of energy efficiency measures in companies. Additionally, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with various services related to energy efficiency and energy management.

We have already successfully managed several projects in the field of energy efficiency and promotion of renewable energy sources.

The project Opens internal link in current windowNorth Sea – Sustainable Energy Planning for instance focused on the development and implementation of measures aiming at increasing the proportion of renewable energies and energy efficiency. Within the project, aconium was responsible for the transnational communication and project management.

Within the cluster-project Opens internal link in current windowLOWCAP findings from various INTERREG IV B projects aiming at reducing CO2 emissions and increasing energy-efficiency in the North Sea region have been evaluated. aconium was again in charge of the financial and project management.
