On February 20, Alexander Dobrindt, Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, handed over a total of 23 funding decisions for consulting services amounting to EUR 50,000 each from the federal funding program for broadband expansion to mayors in the Weilheim-Schongau district.
The money can now be used to plan the expansion projects locally and then submit applications for federal funding to implement the projects. The Federal Minister of Transport also handed over two funding decisions for infrastructure to the mayors of the municipalities of Wessobrunn and Markt Peiting.
The notification was handed over as part of the roadshow of the Broadband@Mittelstand campaign, which has been on the road in many regions of Germany since February 20 with a fully equipped Infomobile to raise awareness of the special program for business parks among small and medium-sized enterprises and municipalities and to get their supply of high-performance broadband connections off the ground. The campaign is a cooperation between the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI ) and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK).
