How does the fiber optic connection get to my home? How can rural areas become smart regions? How is digitalization changing our education system? With answers to these and many other questions about the future, the Infomobile from aconium GmbH will be on tour, starting in August 2021. Under the motto “Germany – a journey into the future”, the Infomobile will visit places of digitalization – networked farms, digital schools and town halls, innovative companies – and bring the rapid pace of technological change to life for everyone.
The Infomobil informs people about the possibilities and opportunities of digitalization like rural areas becoming smart regions with state-of-the-art technical infrastructure. Terms such as fiber optics, 5G, electromobility and green hydrogen have long since entered the common vocabulary. But what does technological progress mean for people’s everyday lives? Whether telemedicine, electromobility and car sharing, smart meters or digital services in town halls and online teaching in schools – none of this would be possible without the expansion of the digital infrastructure towards a sustainable fiber optic architecture. A lot has happened in these fields in recent years. But since the start of the coronavirus pandemic and the associated need for more digitalization, it has become obvious that much more needs to happen here.
On its “Journey into the Future”, the aconium GmbH Infomobile visits places and regions where digitalization has been visibly successful and promising projects have been launched. As an implementer of such infrastructure projects, aconium GmbH wants to show what is possible – and, above all, what the future holds in store if everyone, citizens and stakeholders, work together. The information tour is aimed at people in the regions as well as those responsible in politics and administration. Equipped with the latest digital technology and its applications, the Infomobile presents, among other things, the capabilities that broadband networks already have today and will have in the future. Interactive simulations, explanatory films and videos, presentations and much more are available to visitors on media walls, tablets and notebooks. How good is the cell phone network in the region? Throughout the journey, the Infomobile determines the mobile network coverage – with the help of aconium GmbH’s geo-information system, interested parties can get a detailed picture. A telepresence robot demonstrates new, active communication options in companies that are only possible with a broadband internet connection.
The tour kicks off on August 10 on the North Sea island of Sylt. Further information and tour dates will follow shortly.
