On Monday, September 4, the 1st HYPOS Dialogue took place in Leipzig. Representatives from the Leipzig branch of aconium GmbH were on hand to provide information on the topic of INTERREG funding.
HYPOS – Hydrogen Power Storage & Solutions East Germany – is an East German innovation project specializing in research in the field of hydrogen technology. Around 80 participants attended the 1st HYPOS Dialogue in Leipzig on September 4. Company representatives, scientists, infrastructure experts and municipal and regional decision-makers discussed future applications for hydrogen technology. To kick things off, the focus was on selected funding programmes at EU and federal level that deal with hydrogen as an energy source.
Presentations and dialog forums by aconium GmbH on funding opportunities
In one of the first programme items, Darijus Valiucko (aconium GmbH) provided detailed information on the possibilities of transnational and interregional cooperation using the example of INTERREG funding.
Carsten Krause, Managing Director of HYPOS member company AREVA H2Gen GmbH, made it clear that there are numerous funding opportunities for the hydrogen industry at European level in particular, including the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking programme or the EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020. However, the complexity of the tenders makes it necessary to form project consortia and find professional partners for the application. “The HYPOS network offers an ideal platform for this,” says Krause.
In addition to the introductory presentation of selected funding options by industry experts and representatives of the funding programmes, the second part of the HYPOS Dialogue gave participants the opportunity to take a closer look at the individual programmes in dialogue forums and to exchange initial ideas and develop project approaches in personal discussions. One of these dialog forums was led by Claudia Mühlberg, Deputy Branch Manager of the aconium GmbH site in Leipzig, and her colleague Darijus Valiucko. The focus here was on details of the development of international cooperation within the framework of the INTERREG programme.
HYPOS dialogs and forums
The HYPOS Dialogue is intended to establish a broad knowledge network for the development of a sustainable hydrogen economy. The new format serves to bring together ideas and partners from the hydrogen industry, explained Dr. Joachim Wicke, Chairman of the Board of HYPOS e. V., at the event. In future, the dialogs will take place two to three times a year on important topics relating to “green hydrogen”.
The HYPOS project is now ready for the third edition of the HYPOS Forum. On 2 and 3 November 2017 – also in Leipzig – the focus will be on the market potential and business models of hydrogen technology as well as topics such as digitalization and cost efficiency.
