With the funding competition “Municipal scaling of digital mobility in Baden-Württemberg”, the state wants to accelerate the spread of innovative mobility solutions. An important prerequisite: bringing stakeholders together.

Baden-Württemberg already has a large number of solutions for the digitalization of the mobility sector. In order to fully exploit this innovation potential, the funding competition “Municipal scaling of digital mobility in Baden-Württemberg” aims to network players from politics, administration, business, science and civil society even more closely. On the other hand, existing solutions from the mobility industry are to be better introduced to the market via the municipalities.

The second workshop as part of the funding competition on 17 January 2022 showed how this can be achieved: representatives from local authorities and companies in the mobility industry accepted the invitation from the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior, Digitalization and Local Authorities and the Baden-Württemberg Association of Cities and Towns together with the InKoMo 4.0 office.

Although the network meeting had to take place online due to the coronavirus, there was a lively exchange of ideas. After Christian Kuhm (Ministry of the Interior, Digitization and Municipalities) and Jan Blömacher (Städtetag Baden-Württemberg) welcomed the participants and introduced the competition, Susila Bhagavathula (e-Mobil BW GmbH) reported on the topic of digital inclusive mobility. Julia Käfer (Nahverkehrsgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg mbH) also spoke about the state’s own mobility platform MobiData BW, which was discussed by the participants in the subsequent Q&A session.

Apply for funding until the end of January

The focus of the funding competition is on the rapid advancement of projects in line with the vision of “Baden-Württemberg becoming the mobility state of the future”. Overall, the funding competition is divided into two evaluation stages. Consortia of municipalities and companies can submit application documents for the first evaluation stage until January 31, 2022. In addition to fulfilling the list of criteria and requirements, participation in one of two workshops is mandatory. In the second evaluation stage, applicants then have until April 29, 2022 to submit a detailed implementation concept.

For general questions about the funding program or the application process, interested municipalities and companies can contact the InKoMo 4.0 office at any time.
