How do you want to live tomorrow? By answering this question, students contribute to the local development strategy for their region of Kassel-Land. Together with local stakeholders, aconium is working on a successful application for the LEADER program.
The Kassel-Land region is once again applying for recognition as a LEADER region for the 2023 to 2027 funding period. To this end, the Region Kassel-Land e.V. association, in cooperation with aconium GmbH and with the active participation of citizens, will be drawing up a local development strategy, or LES for short, over the next few months.
As part of various participation processes, the region’s citizens have the opportunity to contribute their opinions and values to the local development strategy and actively shape their future: As local experts, they know the potential on the ground best.
The interests, values and needs of young people also play a major role here. “What do you particularly value about your region? How do you want to live in the future?” employees of aconium GmbH and the Kassel-Land region association recently asked in pop-up dialogues at schools in Hofgeismar, Lohfelden and Bad Karlshafen. The results are important for shaping the LES for the application as a LEADER region.
Since December 20, people in the region have also been able to take part in an online citizen participation survey on topics such as “living”, “housing” and “working” in Kassel-Land. Younger citizens can also get involved with a special questionnaire for 12 to 20-year-olds.
Further information on the creation of the LES and the formats used for public participation can be found on the social media channels of the association @RegionKSLand and on the website of the Kassel-Land region at www.region-kassel-land.de.
