The Emilia-Romagna region is investing in the creation of an ultra-broadband network (Lepida network) that will serve the public administration and private companies through the Net4all project.

It is based on the reuse of existing passive public infrastructure and a public-private partnership (jointly investing companies) to build new, open networks.

The Net4all public-private partnership will create ultra-broadband networks in 12 industrial areas and 90 companies. This is an example of successful public and private investment cooperation and the application of cost reduction measures. Almost all companies considered adopting cloud solutions for internal applications. The largest companies were able to save 75% of costs related to connectivity. Learn more from the video interview.

The project won the European Broadband Award 2016 in the Cost reduction and co-investment category.
