From 1st of May commercial companies can apply for plans for waste heat avoidance and utilization in the course of the “waste heat utilization offensive” of the national action plan energy efficiency (NAPE) of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi). This is intended to contribute to energy savings and the reduction of CO2 emissions.

The KfW bank offers low-interest loans. Repayment grants are being financed by the BMWi. Applicants can apply for up to 25 Mio. Euros per project, which will be funded up to a maximum of 100 %.

Financial support is given technologically neutral to investments for modernisation, extension or construction of new plants or of connection lines for avoidance or utilization of waste heat with a minimum running time of 2 years.

The program is addressed at majority privately owned domestic and foreign commercial companies, companies which offer contracting services and act in their own name and on their own account as well as freelance professionals.
