Groundbreaking ideas always have a touch of the mystical about them. According to history, Isaac Newton was sitting under an apple tree at the very moment when one of the fruits fell on the exceptional physicist’s head – prompting him to develop a theory of mechanics. The image of the genius who single-handedly and by inspiration finds innovations still persists today.
But is that really how innovations are found? Are they really products of chance? Or, on the contrary, are they the result of structured planning and a targeted approach?
Every year, this question is addressed by a team of researchers commissioned by compamedia to find out how innovations come about as part of the “TOP100” competition. Every year, the group analyses hundreds of medium-sized companies using objective criteria from the areas of innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organization, external orientation/open innovation and innovation success in order to find innovation-promoting behaviour patterns and work processes within companies.
The research group identifies particularly innovative companies and awards them the TOP100 seal. Once again this year, numerous companies have been audited, including aconium GmbH once again. The result of the audit: “For the fourth time in a row, we were able to prove that our corporate philosophy – promoting innovation, shaping the future – is put into practice.
The renewed award from the TOP100 panel suggests that innovation really can be developed and planned – and that aconium GmbH has implemented the right framework conditions in the company that are necessary for innovation. These include the free exchange of ideas, open communication, evidence-based work processes and a high level of commitment to the implementation of projects.
The official award ceremony will take place on June 28 at the “congress centrum weimarhalle” in Weimar. There, the prominent science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar will personally congratulate all top innovators on their TOP 100 success as part of the German SME Summit.
