Due to the relevance of the Gap Closure Program as a supplement to the gigabit-capable full expansion, a second call for proposals for the Gap Closure Program is being launched today. The maximum total cost amount per project will be increased to 1,000,000 euros. For the year 2024 (1st and 2nd call), a total of €100 million in federal funding is available for approvals in the gap closure program.
The first call was successfully completed and evaluated. Compared to the first call, the maximum total expenditure per project has now been increased from € 500,000 to € 1,000,000 and the previous limit on the number of applications (100 applications) has been removed. All other regulations and requirements of the first call remain unchanged. If the available federal funds are exceeded, the time of electronic receipt of the application in the online platform will be decisive. Applications can be submitted via the online platform with immediate effect.

Existing or future gigabit network: The municipality has a sub-area that is or will be expanded to be gigabit-capable with the exception of a few eligible address points.
Low civil engineering costs: The remaining eligible addresses can be fully developed with just a few kilometers of civil engineering.
Maximum project costs: The maximum total project costs are EUR 1,000,000.
