The series serves the exchange of knowledge and accompanies current discourses. The articles in the series are published at irregular intervals several times a year and can be downloaded here free of charge as PDF files.

Many aspects indicate that the way we get around and our mobility habits will change fundamentally in the coming years. Autonomous vehicles will actively participate in road traffic, generating the necessary data with the help of highly sensitive sensors and cameras. To ensure smooth traffic flow, vehicles will exchange information with each other and with the traffic infrastructure in order to be able to react appropriately to the situation at all times.

What is the difference between automated and autonomous driving? The second article deals with the different levels of vehicle autonomy and the associated vehicle capabilities.
