aconium GmbH’s Infomobile has been touring Germany since August – from the far north to the deep south. In the coming weeks, the journey into the future will take a break. However, it is far from over.

After more than 10,000 kilometers across Germany, the atene KOM Infomobile is returning to Berlin for the winter months. Since the summer, the team and its mobile have already made stops in Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria on their journey into the future. The Infomobile is tracking down 100 places of digitalization on its journey: Which regions have a gigabit-capable broadband structure? Where is autonomous driving already a reality? How suitable are rural areas for modern co-working? Where is the new technology creating new communities in which citizens can come together?

People are open to new technology

But the Infomobile doesn’t just have questions on board, it also has plenty of answers. It shows what is technically possible today – from the visualization of mobile coverage and the range of applications of telepresence robots to the playful teaching of robotics to young people. Whether in encounters with citizens in marketplaces, schoolchildren, entrepreneurs or municipal decision-makers: Since its first stop on Germany’s northernmost island of Sylt, the Infomobile team has experienced one thing above all else – openness towards new technologies. After the winter break, Thuringia, North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony are also on the tour schedule in addition to Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.
