On Tuesday, July 19, 2022, the board of the Local Action Group (LAG) “Westliche Altmark” e.V., which was newly founded on March 29, 2022, will meet around the chairman Michael Ziche for the general meeting and the official adoption of the final draft of the Local Development Strategy (LES) for the LAG region in the manor house in the Gardelegen district of Lindstedt.
The strategy was developed in a participatory process as the basis for participation in the competition to select LEADER/CLLD areas as part of the “LEADER” funding program in the state of Saxony-Anhalt in the EU funding period 2023 to 2027. In line with the objectives of the umbrella regulation of the European Structural and Investment Funds as well as the state-specific objectives as part of a broad, intensive participation process, this was created by aconium GmbH in cooperation with the client, the Local Action Group “Westliche Altmark” e.V. and the local stakeholders.
After the completion of the development strategy of the Flechtinger Höhenzug and Drömling Local Action Group was celebrated on 30.06.2022, this event marks the launch of a further strategy for the development of the region in Saxony-Anhalt. Since the project was launched in April 2022, the key potential and needs of and for the region and the criteria for the projects to be funded in future have been refined in various participation formats. This process is now culminating in the crowning conclusion of the project, i.e. the presentation of this process summarized in a strategy paper and the presentation of the results developed. Following today’s successful resolution of the developed strategy, it will be submitted to the state of Saxony-Anhalt in August. The strategy laid a further foundation stone for maintaining the economic strength and quality of life of rural regions in Saxony-Anhalt, strengthening cooperation and ensuring the future viability of rural and small-town communities.
