6th Broadband Forum MV with the participation of aconium GmbH

On 10 November 2022, the annual Broadband Forum MV provided an opportunity for the sixth time to impart knowledge and engage in a lively exchange on the topic of gigabit expansion and digitalization. This year, aconium GmbH organized the third lecture panel under the title ” Promoting innovation Shaping the future – from gigabit expansion to a smart region”. Around 350 trade visitors from representatives of local authorities, trade associations and industry attended the 6th Broadband Forum Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Rostock-Warnemünde. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Hohe Düne Congress Center hosted specialist presentations, field reports and trade exhibitions. The forum offered representatives from the public sector and industry a space to exchange ideas and gave local authorities the opportunity to find out more about fibre optic expansion and the opportunities offered by digitalization and to share experiences with colleagues. Around 50 national and international companies presented a wide range of relevant products, services and innovations at the accompanying trade exhibition. This year, aconium GmbH moderated lecture panel 3 “Promoting innovation, shaping the future – from gigabit expansion to smart regions” in the rotunda on the 2nd floor (promenade deck) and provided an insight into a wide range of topics relating to digital development in urban and municipal areas. The lecture topics were used to impart specialist knowledge and create a lively exchange between trade visitors and the team of experts from aconium GmbH, before the evening event began at 6 p.m. with culinary delights, music and good conversation.

aconium experts impart concentrated knowledge

We also sent our experts to Rostock to speak on the panel “Promoting innovation Shaping the future – from gigabit expansion to smart regions”, for example about the transformation of cities and regions into digital ecosystems or to highlight funding opportunities that can help with the transition to a smart city. In addition, Richard Verhülsdonk, a dibkom employee, presented the importance of independent certifications in infrastructure expansion in another panel. With the right funding programmes, municipalities and cities can tackle and implement digitalization concepts. With the right funding, the digital transformation can be supported enormously. This was the subject of the next presentation by our regional development expert Henrik Nürnberger on “Funding perspectives for smart municipalities”, which even included a concrete outlook on upcoming funding programs and their special features. This was followed by “Digital landscapes: How cities and regions can develop into a smart data-driven ecosystem” or also on a currently very important topic: the digitalization of administrative services in Germany. Our eGovernment expert Tim Wegemann addressed this in his presentation on “Breitband-portal.de: Eine OZG Umsetzung zur Beschleunigung des Gigabitausbaus”. In the last presentation of our panel series, Widar Wendt, Head of the aconium Academy, spoke about the topic of digital skills in municipal administrations.
