Table of contents
Safe, sustainable and resilient infrastructures are the backbone of modern societies. They ensure the provision of services of general interest for citizens and enable a prosperous economy. aconium GmbH is an expert in the fields of digital infrastructures such as broadband and 5G, as well as mobility and energy.
We are project sponsors for the gigabit expansion and support municipalities, districts and federal states in recording the actual mobile network coverage, help with the planning of the expansion, determine investment requirements and thus accelerate the 5G expansion in Germany. References in projects in the energy sector and mobility complement our extensive portfolio in the field of infrastructure. We take on the development, preparation and submission of funding applications as a partner for projects relating to sustainable heat supply and district heating and demonstrate our expertise in project management for automated and connected driving, among other things.

Broadband
Broadband networks form the digital backbone of society and the expansion of fiber optic networks is one of the most important infrastructure issues in Germany. The availability of high-performance internet connections is an important location factor for the economy, the basis for networking research institutions and a central element for citizens’ participation in digital services.
Energy
For a long time, technologies based on fossil fuels have dominated the transportation and energy sector. Further developing alternative approaches, freeing them from their niche existence and giving them the necessary attention is a challenge that must be mastered if the energy transition is to be implemented successfully.
Mobile radio
Mobile networks are among the country’s most important infrastructures. They are not only used for communication and entertainment, but are also a location factor in the competition to attract companies, make a major contribution to a region’s tourism success and help to drive digital change in cities and regions – the keyword here is smart city/smart region. In addition, employees expect to be able to work anywhere and at any time – including on transport and rail routes. In addition to closing the last remaining mobile communications gaps, it is increasingly important to further densify the networks with frequencies above 1GHz in order to exploit the full potential of 5G.
Mobility
The mobility of people and goods has changed drastically in recent years. The reasons for this include new production processes, changing population structures in rural regions, consumer behavior and new communication channels in business life. Digitalization plays a dual role here: on the one hand as a driver of certain developments and on the other as a platform for the implementation of mobility innovations.
