Thuringia: eTeach network supports the use of digital teaching formats

Thuringia’s universities have set themselves the task of continuously developing the technologies and tools for media-enhanced teaching and learning by 2025 in order to offer students more digitally supported teaching formats and at the same time teach digital skills as part of the curriculum. The eTeach Network Thuringia was established as a central building block for this as a competence network for digital university teaching, which the Digital Agency Thuringia is currently highlighting in its digital offerings.

In this way, eTeach not only networks the Thuringian university landscape in order to connect teachers and students in the state. Rather, it bundles all activities related to media-enhanced teaching and learning. The project is coordinated at its central hub at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and links up with every college and university in the state via decentralized contact points. In this way, didactic formats and methods for university teaching can be jointly developed and discussed in order to offer advice and qualifications equally at all higher education institutions. This organizational structure also ensures that the expertise is transferred to the network via the local contact points and implemented in teaching for corresponding university-specific projects. Local contact persons at the eTeach contact points at the institutions also provide direct support and guidance for teaching staff and are involved in the ongoing development of application-oriented qualification formats.
