New funding program adopted: Municipal heat planning in Baden-Württemberg

The state of Baden-Württemberg is providing 10.4 million euros in funding for municipal heat planning between 2021 and 2026. Funding is provided for the creation of a municipal heating plan that meets the requirements for a municipal heating plan in accordance with Section 7c of the Baden-Württemberg Climate Protection Act (KSG BW). This can relate to an individual municipality or to the area of several municipalities.

All local authorities in Baden-Württemberg that are not obliged to draw up a municipal heating plan under the Climate Protection Act are eligible to apply. Municipalities with more than 5,000 inhabitants can submit an application on their own, municipalities with a smaller population can only do so in conjunction with at least two other municipalities.

Applications have been possible since the beginning of October. Further information on the funding program can be found on the website of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment.
