Exclusively online, but with an extensive congress program: This is how this year’s ANGA COM presented itself to the trade audience of fiber optic and cable network operators, equipment suppliers and media representatives. Taking place as a purely virtual event for the first time, the new format was able to convince the participants: More than 4,200 congress participants followed the official program with 180 international speakers in 45 panels on various topics and trends in the areas of FTTH expansion, 5G, Smart Cities as well as streaming and over-the-top content from 8 to 10 June. In addition, almost 100 webinars and keynotes were available to the audience on demand. To kick off this year’s ANGA COM, Tim Brauckmüller, Managing Partner of aconium GmbH, moderated a high-profile panel discussion on the topic of “Fiber Summit – Cooperation and Open Access vs. Superstructure?” This was one of five so-called summit events at the online congress and therefore represented a central core element of the three-day conference. Even though the transformation to a virtual industry meeting point is considered a success, the following trade fair will once again take place as the usual face-to-face event. The date for this will be May 10 to 12, 2022, when the Cologne exhibition grounds will once again be the venue.
