What is the current status of broadband funding? With the answer to this question, aconium Managing Director Tim Brauckmüller is one of the speakers at this year’s FRK Broadband Congress, which takes place on September 15 and 16 in Leipzig.

The new directive to promote gigabit expansion in Germany has been in force since April of this year. This means that the expansion of ultra-fast Internet is now supported everywhere where bandwidths of at least 100 Mbit/s are not yet possible. What this means for the players in the municipalities and the expanding companies is one of the central topics at the industry get-together in Leipzig, to which the Broadcasting and Broadband Communications Association (FRK) has invited.

On September 16, Tim Brauckmüller, Managing Director of the project sponsor for the new gigabit funding, will provide an insight and overview of the current status of the funded fiber optic expansion in Germany. What milestones have already been reached? Where have the blank spots disappeared from the broadband map? And why is further funding necessary to enable municipalities in rural areas in particular to continue on their path to the gigabit society?

In addition to the high-profile panels – including Frank Sitta (FDP) and Dr. Mirko Paschke from the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure – aconium will have its own stand at the congress. On both days, the aconium Infomobile will also be making a stop in Leipzig on its “Future Tour” through Germany.
