There has been a lot of excitement about artificial intelligence over the past year. Experts expect the technology to develop enormously over the next few years and are predicting far-reaching changes.
The current boom in artificial intelligence is also evident on the German market. Spending on AI software, services and corresponding hardware rose to 6.3 billion euros in 2023. This is an increase of 32% compared to 2022, when €4.8 billion was spent on artificial intelligence. This is according to an official press release from the digital association Bitkom.
According to Andreas Dengel, Managing Director of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Kaiserslautern, 2024 is seen as a year of evolution in AI development, after 2023 was seen as the year of the – at least perceived – AI revolution. Dengel emphasizes that the surprise effect that ChatGPT benefited from is over, but the potential and breadth that AI has to offer is not yet fully recognized.
aconium GmbH has been a supporting member of the German AI Association since January 2020 and supports the association in its efforts to comply with fundamental ethical, safe and socially acceptable quality parameters in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in member companies, for example with regard to the ethical impact of the product, the transparency of processes or the handling of data.
