COM³ – Building COMpetencies for COMpetitive COMpanies
Project content
The COM³ project supports local and regional authorities in promoting the use of new technologies in rural businesses and increasing the use of local potential for innovation and smart growth.
Rural businesses are slower to respond to change, insecure about technological developments and therefore often unable to adapt to and adopt rapidly evolving technologies. To overcome these barriers, COM³ is developing a unique model for local and regional authorities in the North Sea region to create a dynamic business environment for rural businesses using digital technologies.
The COM³ support model combines good practices and training solutions. It is an easy-to-follow guide that will help employees and developers in municipalities, regions and economic development organizations to make local businesses technology-ready. The COM³ partners are testing the jointly developed solutions in a total of nine pilot regions located in seven different countries in the North Sea region. Together with the sister project CORA, they are creating a platform for digitalization called ruraldigital.eu, which offers solutions to help municipalities, regions and economic development organizations succeed in a digital world.
Goals
- Supporting small, traditional companies in the introduction of basic technologies (e.g. online marketing and e-commerce) through consulting, training and digital hubs
- Supporting digital companies in the introduction of advanced technologies (e.g. big data analytics, data mining and data visualization) through coaching, guidelines and digital hubs
- Strengthening transnational business cooperation and networking through mapping and establishing contacts
