Activities of the “Deutsche Bahn crossing applications” clearing center at aconium GmbH
The Telecommunications Crossing Guideline DB, Guideline 879 (Telecommunications Guidelines 2016) regulates the use of Deutsche Bahn land (including its subsidiaries) for the laying of telecommunications lines (TC lines) by telecommunications companies (TCUs). The 2016 Telecommunications Guidelines set out the general conditions that must be observed when planning and carrying out construction work when crossing DB tracks or land. In the past, however, there have often been delays, even in subsidized expansion projects, due to uncertainties regarding the documents to be submitted, which are necessary for crossing railroad lines with TC lines.
In order to optimize these processes in terms of accelerating the expansion of gigabit-capable telecommunications infrastructures in the area, a regular exchange takes place between Deutsche Bahn AG, the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV), telecommunications industry associations and aconium GmbH. The main results of these meetings are optimizations with regard to the processing and digitalization of processes for line crossings on Deutsche Bahn’s premises.
A clearing office has been set up by aconium GmbH to provide optimal support for applicants. Wilfried Konnemann is available to answer questions on the subject of line crossings. Mr. Konnemann supports all municipalities and companies as an expert with his many years of experience in broadband expansion.
Furthermore, in a regular training course offered by aconium GmbH, the topic “Online application portal for line crossings” is described in detail by Deutsche Bahn speakers and also presented live for those involved in the subsidized broadband expansion. A new training course from aconium GmbH “DB line crossings – construction, acceptance and documentation” with experts from DB Netz AG to support local authorities and companies will start in August 2022.
