Launch of the fifth call for infrastructure projects
The fifth call for applications for the funding of infrastructure projects under the federal broadband funding program starts today.
Midway seminar of the Erasmus+-funded project Colibri (“Collaboration for Better, Personalized and IT-Supported Teaching”)
Colibri, an Erasmus+ funded project, aims to improve the quality of academic offering through innovative teaching methods. It takes place in three consecutive years, offering one-semester courses for students from seven universities from all over Europe. This year´s midway seminar from 18 to 22 April in Barcelona supported the collaboration between as well as the personal guidance of the students.
Handover of funding decision in Berlin
The Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) Norbert Barthle handed over 34 funding decisions for funds from the billion-euro federal program for broadband expansion on Monday, 25.04.2017 in Berlin. Municipalities and districts in structurally weak areas will receive up to 50,000 euros to fund planning services for the preparation of gigabit networks. In a second step, the BMVI will award up to 15 million euros per project to promote the implementation of expansion projects.
In Düsseldorf: First meeting of G20 digital ministers
For the first time in the almost 20-year history of the G20, a meeting of digital ministers took place on April 6 and 7, 2017. Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Brigitte Zypries invited the ministers for digitalization in the G20 countries, international organizations such as the OECD, WTO and UNCTAD as well as the host countries the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore and Spain to Düsseldorf. The theme of the meeting was “Digitalization: Policies for a Digital Future”.
