Creation of a local development strategy for the LEADER region Kassel-Land e.V.

The project

One of the goals of Hessen’s state policy is to strengthen rural regions. In order to achieve this, the European Union, together with the Hessian Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (HMUKLV), supports projects that contribute to such strengthening within the framework of the LEADER funding programme.

With the elaboration of the local development strategy, aconium GmbH supports the Kassel-Land region, which wants to merge its previous LEADER regions CasselerBergland and Kulturladschaft HessenSpitze, to qualify for the upcoming funding period 2023-2027. The special feature: The process of creating the LES takes place bottom-up. The aim is to take a close look at the region together with the partners and, above all, the local citizens.

What is important to the population in their region? What moves the people? These are precisely the questions that are to be answered and lay the foundation for a strong LEADER Region Kassel-Land. In the preparation of the LES, the fields of action of services of general interest, economy and work, leisure and culture, tourism and local recreation, bioeconomy and regionality play an important role and already indicate how the region can develop in the future.

Within this framework, aconium GmbH was commissioned to accompany the strategy process. In addition, aconium GmbH supports Region Kassel-Land e.V. in organisational development.

Goals

The aim is to develop a vision for the Kassel-Land region together with the partners and with the active participation of the citizens. The LES ought to be formed in a participatory process. Therefor the focus here is on communication, information and above all on activating the public.

aconium responsibilities

aconium supports the Kassel-Land region as a sparring partner in the design of a holistic, open and future-oriented participation process for the elaboration of future scenarios and development goals for the four fields of action as well as the creation of the Local Development Strategy for the LEADER region Kassel-Land.

This includes tasks such as project management and control, event management, public relations, organisational development and quality assurance.
