Digital citizen participation platform Lüchow

As part of the “Resilient inner cities” funding program, the town of Lüchow (Wendland) is implementing various measures to make its inner city fit for the future. The Digital Citizen participation platform is one of three lighthouse projects that are being implemented in Lüchow with the help of the funding.

Years

aconium GmbH was commissioned to design and implement the public participation process. An online platform will be created and two events will be held on site to actively involve citizens in the design process. The entire participation process is designed to be inclusive, as it is important to the city to reflect the different perspectives of all people in Lüchow and the surrounding area in the planning. A child, an elderly person, someone on a cargo bike or in an SUV: everyone has different perspectives and needs when it comes to urban design. The participation formats focus on capturing the diverse subjective aspects so that they can later be incorporated into the planning.

Together with its partner, Senf.app, aconium is supporting the city of Lüchow over the entire project duration of around four years and will shape the participation of citizens digitally and on site in close coordination with its client. The results of this process will be incorporated into a more liveable redesign of the city center and, in particular, into the design of diverse green spaces in the city.

Goals

Implementation of citizen participation as part of the future-oriented city center design in Lüchow. The platform and two local events enable the citizens of Lüchow to actively and constructively participate in the design process of Lüchow’s city center.
