Development of digital implementation projects as blueprints or best-practice examples for Hessian districts as part of the smart municipalities and regions funding project in the “Starke Heimat Hessen” programme
The Project
Digitalisation is of vital importance for the administrative districts of Hesse in order to successfully meet a wide range of current challenges. With scarce financial resources and a shortage of skilled labour among the work force, the possibilities of technical and digital support to increase the efficiency of administrative structures must be fully exploited.
Against this backdrop, the districts of Hesse are planning joint projects as part of the funding for smart municipalities and regions in the “Starke Heimat Hessen” programme. With this funding programme, the state of Hesse, represented by the Hessian Ministry for Digitalisation and Innovation, is supporting its municipalities with digitalisation.
As part of the development of a digitalisation strategy for the districts of Hesse, three key areas of action were identified by the Ministry as part of the association’s work:
- information/cyber security and shared infrastructure
- digital building management for schools
- modern workplace/new work
Goal
The aim of the project is to develop digital implementation projects that may serve as blueprints or best-practice examples for the Hessian districts in the “Starke Heimat Hessen” programme.
