Integrated Digital Development Concept (IDEK) for the action area 3 of the City of Munich (LHM)
The Project
The action area 3 is a lively area in the east of Munich, for which an integrated digital development concept (IDEK) is to be formulated by October 2022. With the IDEK, the city administration aims on developing a new and innovative planning tool for Munich’s urban development, which intersects the digital and spatial components of the city. The aim of the project is to examine the potential added value of digitization and to anchor it in the urban environment.
The project investigates the implementation of digital technologies and their potential impact on the development of the district in a participatory process. As part of the model project “Smart Cities Smart Regions – municipal digitization strategies for urban development and mobility of the future” of the Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Construction and Transport, 12 model cities and regions are supported in the development of integrated digital development concepts. Action area 3 in Munich is one of these model municipalities. aconium cooperates with two other planning offices Buro Happold and Yellow Z in the conception of the IDEK.
Goals
The IDEK aims at expanding the already published spatial development concept of the quarter with a tailor-made digitization concept. The core question is how digitization can contribute to achieve the development goals in action area 3.
